Game History

Chase H.Q. 2 is an arcade vehicular combat racing game developed and published by Taito as a sequel to their 1988 classic Chase H.Q. The game had a somewhat confusing development history, with Taito initially showing a prototype titled "Chase H.Q.: Nancy Yori Kinkyuu Renraku" (Chase H.Q. - An Urgent Call From Nancy) at the Arcade Operator's Union (AOU) trade show in Tokyo in February 2006, and again at AOU 2007. The game was eventually released as Chase H.Q. 2 in December 2007.

Chase H.Q. 2 continued the series' signature gameplay where players assume the role of a police officer pursuing fleeing criminals in high-speed chases. The sequel introduced several new features, including the ability to pick up nitrous for extra speed advantage and the inclusion of a lifelike Nancy character who offers guidance in English to help players catch the criminals.

The game was part of the Chase H.Q. franchise that had previously included Special Criminal Investigation (1989), Super Chase: Criminal Termination (1993), and Ray Tracers (1997).
