Game History

Daytona USA 2 is an arcade racing game developed by Sega AM2 and released in 1998 as the sequel to the hugely successful Daytona USA. Running on Sega's advanced Model 3 hardware, it was primarily available as a deluxe cabinet, though some twin units were produced. A key feature was its ability to link up to eight cabinets for competitive multiplayer races supporting up to sixteen players simultaneously.

The game was not released on home consoles for over 25 years. Daytona USA 2 achieved notable commercial success, being listed as the third most-successful dedicated arcade game in Japan in August 1998.
