Game History

The Fast and the Furious: Super Bikes is an arcade motorcycle racing game developed and published by Raw Thrills and released on June 21, 2006. It was the second game in The Fast and the Furious arcade series and the first spin-off, shifting from car racing to motorcycle racing. The game was created by Raw Thrills, a company founded in 2001 by Eugene Jarvis and other former Midway Games developers.

The game featured a unique motorcycle cabinet that players could lean into turns, simulating the experience of riding a motorcycle. This design helped create an immersive racing experience that couldn't be replicated on home consoles. The game included licensed motorcycles and allowed players to upgrade their bikes with better engines, tires, and nitrous oxide. Despite carrying the Fast and the Furious license, the characters in the game were not related to the movie franchise.

Super Bikes was followed by a sequel, Super Bikes 2, released in 2010, which dropped the Fast and the Furious branding but expanded on the original concept with more tracks and special bikes, including a lightcycle-style bike inspired by Disney's TRON. The franchise continued with Super Bikes 3, which was released to arcades in March 2019.
