Game History

Stern Pinball released its Jaws pinball machine in January 2024, featuring the iconic film franchise from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment. It incorporates Stern's "most advanced software and hardware to date" according to President & CEO Seth Davis, with gameplay that allows players to experience elements from all four JAWS films. Players take on the roles of Quint, Hooper, and Brody to save Amity Island's residents and the Fourth of July from the dangerous ocean creatures. The game features brand-new mechanical features inspired by iconic movie moments and state-of-the-art technology, including animated lighting effects that create "blood in the water" visual effects.

The Jaws pinball machines have been well-received by the pinball community, with high ratings on Pinside across all models.

How to Play

Objective

The main goal of Stern's Jaws pinball is to save Amity Island's residents and the Fourth of July celebration from the dangerous ocean creatures. You take on the roles of Quint, Hooper, and Brody to complete missions based on scenes from all four Jaws films. The ultimate objective is to defeat the shark and achieve the highest score possible.

Controls

• Flippers: Use the left and right flippers to hit the ball and keep it in play
• Launch Button: Press to launch the ball into play
• Start Button: Press to begin a new game
• Plunger: Use to launch the ball into play (if present on the machine)

Gameplay

• Starting the Game: Press the Start Button to begin your mission to protect Amity Island.

• Ball Launch: Launch the ball into play using the plunger or launch button.

• Character Modes: Complete specific shots to activate modes featuring Quint, Hooper, and Brody, each with unique objectives based on their roles in the films.

• Shark Encounters: Face the shark by completing certain sequences and objectives throughout the game.

• Island Rescue: Save Amity Island residents by completing specific shots and objectives within time limits.

• Mechanical Features: Interact with mechanical elements inspired by iconic movie moments, including animated lighting effects that create "blood in the water" visual effects.

• Multiball Modes: Activate various multiball modes by completing certain sequences, allowing multiple balls in play simultaneously.

• Fourth of July Protection: Complete special missions to protect the Fourth of July celebration from shark attacks.
